Madhya Pradesh is set to receive a new airport in Shivpuri, with the state government granting approval for the required land, a major step toward its construction.
The approval was made during a recent state cabinet meeting, which has been widely celebrated in Shivpuri. Guna-Shivpuri Lok Sabha MP and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed his excitement on social media, highlighting the approval as a milestone for the region.
The Madhya Pradesh government has been working to improve air connectivity across the state, and the new airport in Shivpuri is a significant part of this initiative.
The cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, sanctioned 292 acres of land for the airport project on Tuesday, further advancing the state’s infrastructure plans.
Currently, Shivpuri has an airstrip that will be upgraded into a fully functional airport by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The new Shivpuri airport will be capable of handling aircraft like the ATR-72, significantly enhancing the region's connectivity.
