Mann launches helpline for Punjabis stranded in Middle East

CM Mann said the state government is in constant contact with the Union government to ensure the safe and early return of Punjabis stuck in the conflict-hit region. He added that Punjab will provide full support and cooperation to those stranded in the strife-affected Middle East.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced a 24×7 helpline to help Punjabis stranded in countries affected by the joint US-Israel attack on Iran. He assured that the state government will extend all possible help.
 
CM Mann said the state government was in constant contact with the Union government to ensure the safe and early return of Punjabis stuck in the conflict-hit region. He added that Punjab will provide full support and cooperation to those stranded in the strife-affected Middle East.
 
“The state government is constantly in touch with the Government of India to ensure the safe and prompt return of those stuck. Due to the conflicts in Arab countries, many Punjabis in these nations are facing serious difficulties. The Punjab government has set up a helpline. If any person or their family is stranded in these countries, they can call on these numbers,” he said.
 
“People can call 0172 2260042 and 0172 2260043, or send a WhatsApp message to +91 94787 79112, if any kind of help is required,” the Chief Minister said.

 

Reiterating the government’s commitment, the Punjab Chief Minister said, “We are committed to providing all necessary support and assistance to the stranded people as soon as possible.” Expressing solidarity with families of youth and students stranded in Gulf countries, he said the state government stands firmly with them during this difficult time. He also urged the Union government to take steps for the safe evacuation of Punjabis stranded in the Middle East.
 
Meanwhile, the BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) also issued helpline numbers. The Punjab BJP appealed to people that if any family member, relative or friend is stranded in the Gulf region or needs immediate help, they should contact the helpline number 7408560065. The party shared the information through a post on X.

 

The SAD also said in this hour of crisis, the party stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Punjabi community and is ready to provide every possible help.

 

“An appeal to all Punjabis: If any individual, family, or your relative or friend in these countries needs any kind of help, please contact the helpline number +91 9501287100,” the party shared in a post on X.
