Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday rolled out benefits worth around ₹130 crore for over 27,700 beneficiaries under multiple flagship schemes aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods and community infrastructure across Meghalaya.
The disbursement was made at a function held at Polo Ground in Shillong, where Sangma, along with Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Timothy D Shira and MLA Celestine Lyngdoh, addressed around 3,000 beneficiaries.
Funds were released under several initiatives, including FOCUS+, GREEN Meghalaya+, LIFCOM, MegLIFE, Floriculture Mission and CM ELEVATE, benefiting individuals as well as 235 farmer cooperatives.
On the occasion, the chief minister also inaugurated 128 MegLIFE community halls, 34 warehouses and four common facility centres under CM ELEVATE, constructed at a combined cost of over ₹48 crore.

Reaffirming the government’s focus on inclusive growth, Sangma said welfare outreach has expanded significantly in recent years. “In 2018, the state had three to four major schemes. Today, we run more than 30 welfare schemes, reaching over 8 lakh beneficiaries,” he said.
Highlighting key programmes, he said FOCUS+, CM Safe Motherhood Scheme, CM ELEVATE and CM Scholarship Scheme have benefited over 1.05 lakh farmers, 13,169 women, 3,600 entrepreneurs and 98,751 students, respectively.
Officials said that since March 4, more than 24,400 beneficiaries have received ₹6.04 crore under FOCUS+. Under GREEN Meghalaya+, over 2,700 beneficiaries received ₹25.54 crore, taking total disbursement past ₹100 crore.
Additionally, LIFCOM has extended over ₹27 crore to cooperatives, while the Floriculture Mission has disbursed ₹22 crore to 320 beneficiaries. Under CM ELEVATE, ₹76 lakh was provided to 180 entrepreneurs.
Sangma said the government remains committed to strengthening grassroots institutions and ensuring welfare schemes reach communities effectively.
