The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Saturday issued a fresh weather forecast predicting rain and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir from March 28 to March 30.
Over the past three weeks, J&K has received multiple spells of rain and snowfall due to continuous weather activity. Higher reaches of the Union Territory received light to moderate snowfall, while the plains experienced widespread rain, including in low-lying areas.
Director of the MeT Centre Srinagar, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, reiterated that the weather is expected to remain cloudy today with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain in the plains and snowfall over higher reaches and remote areas.
He had earlier predicted light rain over the plains and snowfall over higher reaches, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour from March 28 onwards.
The weather is likely to remain cloudy with brief spells of light rain and snow at scattered places.
From April 1 to 2, conditions are expected to be partly to generally cloudy with light rain at several places across the Kashmir division.
He added that between April 3 and 4, there are chances of light rain or snowfall at scattered places, while from April 5 to 7, partly cloudy conditions with isolated light rain or snow are likely over widespread areas of the UT.
