Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the launch of the 'Umang Shiksha Health and Wellness' programme as part of the National Yuva Mission.
Under this programme, colleges will maintain health records for every student who enrolls. Their physical, mental, and emotional health will be regularly monitored through check-ups to ensure their well-being.
The programme will be managed jointly by the Higher Education and Health Departments.
The 'Tele Manas' service (14416) has been made available for the youth, and a new Umang helpline number (14425) has been issued. Young people can use these services to get health-related information.
Additionally, the 'Just Ask' chatbot has been introduced to educate youth about the dangers of drug addiction and ways to overcome it.
In Madhya Pradesh, over 13 lakh students are currently enrolled in colleges and universities, with more than 2,300 private and government colleges. Every year, nearly 6.5 lakh students pass the 12th-grade board exams and move on to higher education.
The Yuva Shakti Mission aims to provide employment to 70 per cent (about 1.5 crore) of the youth in the state by 2028.
