Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Tuesday blamed the Madhya Pradesh government of announcements in the legislative assembly, which are rarely fulfilled. "This is the government of announcements and promises. There is no sign of the number of announcements made by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and his predecessor Shivraj Singh Chouhan," Nath said in response to a question from reporters after sitting through the proceedings in the legislative assembly.
"If there is any prize for making (false) assurances and issuing (hollow) statements, I am positive that they (Chouhan and Yadav) will win the first prize," he said.
Answering a question about whether senior leaders Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari, members of the Operation Sindoor delegations, were allegedly stopped from speaking in Parliament by Congress, Nath replied, "This is the party's decision, I think it is the right decision".

The former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh said the Congress will persist in seeking 27 per cent reservation for OBCs. "This is an issue of social justice, which is not limited to OBCs," he said.
The Congress accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of never implementing its offer in 2003 to increase the OBC quota cap to 27 per cent.
Nath struck back at CM Yadav, who claimed that the previous Congress government had enacted an incomplete OBC reservation bill.
"I did nothing behind the back. Everything is in the open," he replied. He also seconded Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi on "genocide" in Gaza and the Modi government's silence.
