The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which probes terror-related offences in the country, on Friday carried out searches at the Government Medical College (GMC) in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The raids are part of a broader investigation aimed at dismantling a white-collar terror network that was busted in Faridabad last year.
Officials said a team of NIA investigators arrived at GMC Anantnag and conducted searches in connection with the recovery of a rifle from the locker of a doctor in November 2025.
Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather was among the nine persons arrested as part of the terror module probe that led to the recovery of massive quantities of explosives from Faridabad in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Meanwhile, a search operation by security forces was ongoing in the Koil Karewa area of Pulwama district, officials said. They said the operation was launched following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
So far, no fresh arrests or recoveries have been made. This is a developing story. Further details will be shared as they emerge.
