The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar.
The announcement came hours after Brar and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi were charged in connection with the killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in 2023 in Surrey, British Columbia.
Goldy Brar is also one of the main accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. He is listed among India's most wanted criminals by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Punjab Police, both of which have also announced rewards for information about him.
In a post on X, the FBI said the reward is being offered for information about Brar, who is wanted for his alleged role in the Lawrence Bishnoi organised crime group. The agency said the network has been involved in several violent crimes across Southern California, the US and Canada. It also confirmed that Brar has been added to its Most Wanted fugitives list.
The FBI said a federal arrest warrant was issued against Brar on July 1 by the US District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. He faces charges including racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to interfere with commerce through extortion, and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. According to the agency, Brar has links to Sacramento and Fresno in California, as well as Canada, India and Mexico.
The reward announcement follows Operation Hard Ball, a joint operation carried out by law enforcement agencies from the US, Canada and Europe. The crackdown resulted in 24 arrests and charges against 37 people allegedly linked to three India-based organised crime groups.
According to the charges, Bishnoi and Brar were behind the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead outside a Sikh temple in Surrey on June 18, 2023. The killing further strained relations between India and Canada after Ottawa alleged the involvement of Indian government agents, an allegation that New Delhi has repeatedly denied. In September 2025, Canada designated the Bishnoi network as a terrorist organisation.
The indictment describes Brar as Bishnoi's childhood friend and the North American head of the criminal network. He is also accused in several extortion cases in Los Angeles and Thousand Oaks, as well as a 2023 shooting at the Vancouver home of a well-known Indian actor-singer. The FBI said Brar remains absconding and is one of 10 fugitives still being sought in the case, with seven believed to be in the United States.
