Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called the deadly stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, which killed 18 people, a "very sad" incident.
Speaking briefly to the media after arriving in Delhi, Kumar said his government would support the victims from Bihar.
"I heard about the incident. It is very sad. Some of the victims are from Bihar, and we have decided to help their families," he said.
The Bihar government has announced ₹2 lakh for the families of those from Bihar who died and ₹50,000 for those injured.
The stampede happened late Saturday night at the crowded railway station. A senior railway official said it started when some passengers slipped and fell while coming down a foot-over bridge.
More than 12 people were injured in the incident, which took place on platforms 14 and 15, where large crowds had gathered to board trains to Prayagraj for the ongoing Maha Kumbh.
