Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Triveniganj in Supaul district on Monday as part of his Pragati Yatra. Despite arriving an hour later than scheduled, the CM’s helicopter landed at Bijalpur in Bakour Panchayat under Sadar block.
Amid tight security, he participated in various programs and inaugurated multiple development projects.
Focus on development work in Bijalpur
CM Nitish Kumar inspected the Bijalpur rehabilitation area in Ward 5 of Bakour Panchayat. He reviewed the progress of various departmental projects and inaugurated several schemes. The Chief Minister visited 20 stalls showcasing local development initiatives.
Key projects inspected and inaugurated included:
- Renovation of a pond under the Jal Jeevan Hariyali program at a cost of Rs 7.93 lakh.
- Construction of a ghat near the pond at Rs 60 lakh.
- Soil filling work in the temple courtyard and surrounding areas, completed at a cost of Rs 43 lakh.
- Strengthening and beautification of the courtyard with paver blocks.
The renovated pond has been handed over to the Jeevika group for fish farming under the Jal Jeevan Hariyali initiative.

Major announcements for Supaul
During this yatra, CM Nitish Kumar announced projects worth ?29,807.29 crore for Supaul district. These include:
- The foundation stone for 158 new schemes at a cost of Rs 16,384.54 crore.
- Inauguration of 52 completed projects worth Rs 13,000 crore.
The Chief Minister spent over four hours in Supaul before heading to his next destination, Madhepura, where he planned to stay overnight.
