In a tragic road accident in Noida’s Sector 30 on Saturday night, a five-year-old girl lost her life and two others were critically injured after a speeding BMW car rammed into a scooter, police said on Sunday. The incident occurred when the child's father, Gul Mohammad, was taking her to a hospital for a routine medical check-up.
According to police, the BMW collided with the scooter around 8 pm. The car was being driven at high speed by two college students — identified as Yash Sharma and Abhishek Rawat — who have since been arrested. The car involved in the crash has also been seized.
The child was declared dead shortly after the collision, while her father Gul Mohammad and his brother-in-law Raja sustained severe injuries. Both are currently undergoing treatment, and their condition remains critical, according to hospital authorities.
Police officials said that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events. Authorities are also examining whether the accused were under the influence of alcohol or driving rashly at the time of the accident. Strict legal action will be taken against those responsible, the Noida Police have promised. The tragedy has raised new concerns about reckless driving and road safety, especially when it comes to luxury cars driven by young people.
