The Revenue Department has now started a detailed verification of claims. First, patwaris will check the records, followed by kanungos, circle revenue officers, naib tehsildars and tehsildars. Later, senior officials including the District Revenue Officer and SDM will carry out further checks. “Deputy Commissioner will reverify around 5 percent area and nearly 2 percent area will be verified by the Divisional Commissioner,” a senior Revenue Department official said.

The official added that the government has set September 25 as the deadline for completing the verification process. “We appeal to farmers to cooperate with officials during verification,” he said.
