The Haryana government has formed a high-level monitoring panel to expedite development projects and ensure timely execution, as per an official order on Monday.
The panel will assess the progress of projects every two weeks, while overall reviews will also be taken at the chief minister's level, probably once in two months.
According to the order issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the initiative aimed to improve efficiency, accountability and on time delivery of development works in the state.
The panel includes Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Saket Kumar, Officer on Special Duty to the CM Narender Pal Malik and Senior
Consultant to the CM Karan Ahlawadi. Meanwhile, Chief Engineer (Public Health) Rajeev Batish will provide technical support.
The committee will monitor timelines from administrative approval to award of work, inspect delays in approvals, and review the time taken between award and start of projects, such as required clearances.
The panel will also review project completion, discover reasons for delays and increase in cost, check revised timelines after fresh approvals, ensure completion within prescribed schedules and monitor maintenance of assets created.
It will submit progress reports on a monthly basis to the Principal Secretary to the chief minister.
