Pastor Bajinder Singh has been booked by Mohali police for allegedly assaulting a 35-year-old woman pastor at his church in Baroudi village, New Chandigarh.

The incident, which took place on February 14, came to light after a purported video of the assault surfaced on social media and was subsequently verified by authorities.

The victim, who was accompanied by a man and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter at the time, alleged that Bajinder Singh slapped her, grabbed her by the throat, and pushed her after she objected to his behaviour.

According to the victim’s statement, the altercation occurred while Bajinder Singh was meeting with a man whose sister had stopped attending the church. The pastor allegedly suspected that the victim had influenced the family’s decision to discontinue the woman’s visits to the congregation, leading to his aggressive reaction.

Following the incident, the victim recorded her statement before DSP City 1 Mohit Aggarwal at the Mullanpur police station. She further claimed that Bajinder Singh’s supporters had been issuing threats against her on social media, creating concerns for her safety.

Meanwhile, supporters of Bajinder Singh have refuted the allegations, asserting that the video evidence is AI-generated and that the claims against him are false.
