Following the alerts, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and police personnel were swiftly deployed at the affected schools.

Several schools in the city received bomb threat emails on Thursday, triggering an immediate response from authorities, officials said. Following the alerts, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and police personnel were swiftly deployed at the affected schools. Local police teams cordoned off the premises as a precautionary measure, while school authorities initiated safety protocols and ensured that students and staff were moved to secure areas.

Comprehensive search and sanitisation operations were initiated across the campuses to ensure safety, officials confirmed. Teams carried out detailed checks of classrooms, administrative blocks, playgrounds, and surrounding areas, while access to the premises was temporarily restricted during the operation.
Officials said no suspicious objects had been found so far, but searches were continuing as a precaution. Authorities also urged the public not to panic and to rely only on verified information.

The incident comes shortly after similar threats were reported in recent weeks across various parts of Punjab and Haryana, where subsequent investigations found the emails to be hoaxes. Cyber teams have been engaged in tracing the origin of such messages, examining email servers and digital footprints to identify those responsible.

Just a few days earlier, multiple schools in Chandigarh had also received bomb threats, but thorough checks at the time did not uncover anything suspicious. Police officials said efforts are underway to determine whether the latest threats are linked to earlier incidents and to prevent any attempt to disrupt public order.

In recent weeks, multiple educational institutions across Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh have received similar bomb threat emails, triggering large-scale security responses. In most cases, thorough searches by police and bomb disposal squads did not find any explosives, and the threats were later declared hoaxes.

Authorities believe many of these emails are sent in a coordinated pattern to create panic and disrupt normal functioning, particularly in schools. Investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of these messages, with cyber units examining email servers, IP addresses, and possible links to mischief-makers or larger networks.
