Punjabi music producer Pinky Dhaliwal has been arrested following a complaint by singer and actress Sunanda Sharma, who accused him of cheating, forgery, and criminal intimidation.
Sunanda alleged that despite generating Rs 250 crore in revenue over the years, she had not received any payment. In her complaint to the Mohali police, she also claimed that Pushpinder Dhaliwal deceived her by promising marriage to his son, Gurkaran Dhaliwal, but later exploited her.
The police arrested Pinky Dhaliwal in Sector 70 on Saturday, and a case was registered at Mataur police station. The Punjab Women's Commission, led by chairperson Raj Lalli Gill, intervened in the matter after Sunanda shared her ordeal on social media, tagging Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
She also accused the music label 'Mad4Music' of withholding her payments for years and keeping her contractually bound to the company against her will.
Addressing the issue publicly, the 33-year-old singer posted on X, warning the public and industry professionals about individuals falsely claiming exclusive rights over her professional work. She stated that such claims were fraudulent and legally baseless and assured that legal action would be taken against those misrepresenting their association with her or interfering in her career.
