Police find no proof in Hyderabad man’s claim of cooking wife’s body

After the man's confession, the officials have launched search operations in Jillelaguda lake where the man claimed to have dumped the pieces of the wife's body.

Venkata Madhavi, 35, was reported missing by the family on January 16.


After 48 hours a man walked into the Meerpet police station and confessed that he killed his wife and disposed her body parts after cooking them, invstigation is ongoing in the case.

 

The Meerpet police have not found any evidence to support the claim of a man who said that he killed his wife and disposed parts of her body after cooking them in pressure cooker. 

 

After the man's confession, the officials have launched search operations in Jillelaguda lake where the man claimed to have dumped the pieces of the wife's body.

 

Police also searched the couple’s residence.

 

It has been learnt that as of Thursday evening, the searches have also not yielded any results.

According to LB Nagar DCP Ch Praveen Kumar, 45-year-old Guru Murthy along with his family had reported his 35-year-old wife Venkata Madhavi went missing on January 18.

 

During the investigation, it was discovered that Madhavi was last seen with her husband Murthy at their residence on January 14, while their two children were at their aunt’s place.

 

On January 22, the police detained Murthy following his confession.

 

The man, a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, served the Indian Army for over 20 years. After his stint in the Indian Army, Murthy began working as an outsourced security guard with the DRDO in Kanchanbagh.

 

The couple had been married for over 13 years and were dealing with family disputes at the time of the incident, the official said.
