The Jammu and Kashmir Police have continued their anti-terror operations, arresting several suspected individuals alleged to be linked with terrorist organisations.
Operations against narco-terrorist networks have also been intensified across the Union Territory (UT). Police have apprehended several persons in the Kashmir Valley with alleged ties to terror outfits and recovered arms, ammunition and cash from their possession of the apprehended individuals.
On Friday, police attached immovable properties of seven people from Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district who are allegedly involved in anti-national activities while operating from Pakistan, officials said.
They said the action was taken following orders of a special court in connection with cases registered at the Malhar police station.
The attached properties include 10 kanals and 15 marlas of land in the Lohai-Malhar area of Kathua district, valued at several crores of rupees.
“A proclamation had earlier been issued against the seven accused, all residents of Tehsil Lohai-Malhar, who are presently staying in Pakistan.
As they remained absconding, police, with the assistance of the revenue department, identified and attached their immovable properties after completing all legal formalities under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS),” an officer said.
The suspected individuals whose properties were attached are Mohd Ayaz alias Adeel Ansari, Abdul Kareem alias Bitta, Sarfraz Nawaz alias Nawaz Ahmad, Mohd Farooq alias Farooq Ahmed, Mohd Hafeez, Gul Mohd, and Akhtar Ali alias Niku, officials said.
In a separate development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches in south Kashmir’s Shopian and Pulwama districts in connection with the November 10, 2025, Red Fort car explosion, officials said.
