The Punjab Cabinet has approved the prosecution of former state minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot in a corruption case, which was registered against him by the Vigilance Bureau (VB) in June 2022.
The VB has charged Dharamsot with accepting a bribe of ₹1.67 crore. The Cabinet has also decided to proceed against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2022, to further strengthen the case. A formal recommendation has been sent to the Punjab governor to prosecute Dharamsot.
