On Monday, Punjab and Haryana experienced above-normal minimum temperatures, with several areas also seeing fog.
According to the meteorological department, the average minimum temperatures were 4.6°C above normal in Punjab and 3.6°C above normal in Haryana.
In Punjab, Faridkot recorded a minimum temperature of 7.5°C. Other key temperatures included:
- Amritsar: 8°C (4°C above normal)
- Ludhiana: 13.4°C (7°C above normal)
- Patiala: 11.1°C
- Pathankot: 10°C
- Bathinda: 8.4°C
- Gurdaspur: 8.5°C
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 12.4°C, which is 5°C above normal. Other temperatures in Haryana included:
- Hisar: 9°C
- Karnal: 9.8°C
- Narnaul: 6.3°C
- Rohtak: 11.4°C
- Bhiwani: 8.5°C
- Sirsa: 9°C
- Faridabad: 13.7°C
Chandigarh, the shared capital of both states, recorded a minimum temperature of 11.8°C, which is 4°C above normal.
