The Counter Intelligence unit in Amritsar has dismantled an illegal weapon smuggling module with the arrest of Gurbaaz Singh, an associate of the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang.
Police officials confirmed the seizure of six .32-bore pistols along with ten live bullets from the suspect’s possession.
"In a swift intelligence-led operation, Counter Intelligence, #Amritsar, successfully busts an illegal weapon smuggling module and apprehends Gurbaaz Singh, an associate of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang, recovering six .32 bore pistols along with ten rounds of ammunition," wrote DGP Gaurav Yadav on X.
According to preliminary investigations, the seized firearms were smuggled from Madhya Pradesh for planned criminal activities in Punjab.
Authorities have launched further investigations to track the supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the illegal arms trade.
