Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced on Friday that a new training facility will be built at the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) to equip officers with advanced skills to tackle cyber and economic crimes.

Speaking at the passing out parade for the 55th batch of Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officers at the RPA grounds, Sharma stated that the new facility would improve training, technical resources, and infrastructure. This, he explained, would better prepare officers for tackling financial and cyber-related offences.

He asserted that crime prevention and maintaining law and order are his top priorities, adding that the government is dedicated to further strengthening the police system.

"Training in the police force not only provides legal knowledge but also builds communication, cooperation, and team spirit," Sharma said. "This fundamental training shapes the character and personality of police officers."

The Chief Minister praised the growing number of women in the police force, calling them an inspiration to society. "Women feel more comfortable approaching female officers with their concerns. These officers are not just crucial members of the force but also role models for others," he noted.

Speaking on the evolving nature of crime, Sharma underscored that the police must remain alert, up-to-date, and technically proficient to combat challenges like organised crime and cyber threats.

"Alongside traditional policing, technical skills, cybersecurity awareness, and digital forensics knowledge are now essential," he added.

Calling honesty the police's most powerful tool, Sharma urged officers to work with patience and integrity, regardless of external pressures.

The Chief Minister also pointed to a decrease in crime rates across the state. "Since 2023, there has been a 19.45 per cent drop in overall crimes. Atrocities against Scheduled Castes have fallen by 17.80 pc, and against Scheduled Tribes by 18.77 pc. Crimes against women have also been reduced by 9.24 pc," he shared.

Director General of Police, Rajeev Kumar Sharma, affirmed that the Rajasthan Police is committed to ensuring robust law and order. "We are continually upgrading our technical capabilities, speeding up investigations, and enhancing operational efficiency to meet new challenges," he stated.

Also present at the event were Minister of State for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedham; Jaipur MP, Manju Sharma; Chief Secretary, Sudhansh Pant; and RPA Director, S Sengathir.
