Badal, the main shooter who is said to have executed the murder of RSS leader Naveen Kumar in Ferozepur, was killed in an encounter with the police near Mamu Joya village of Fazilka district. Badal was a resident of Ferozepur city.
Disclosing this, Harmanbir Singh, DIG, Ferozepur Range, said a Ferozepur police team reached the crematorium to recover weapons and arrest two of Badal’s accomplices. Two other shooters present there opened fire at the police. During the cross-firing, Head Constable Balour Singh was hit by a bullet in the arm, while one bullet hit the bulletproof jacket of another policeman.
Both the head constable and Badal were admitted to Civil Hospital, Fazilka, where Badal succumbed to his injuries.
Three other shooters, Kali, Kanav and Harsh, have been arrested in the case. Kali was also injured in the crossfire. The police are on the lookout for the remaining accused in the case.
