The principal of Mahuadabar Middle School in Deoghar, Jharkhand, was killed in a bomb attack on Thursday, according to a police official.

Sanjay Kumar Das, while travelling on his two-wheeler for work, was targeted by unidentified assailants who threw bombs at him, said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Madhurpur), Satyendra Prasad.

Das was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors. The police quickly arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The motive behind the attack and the exact number of attackers remain unclear.

Authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the culprits, the SDPO added.
