Search operations were carried out at the Ambala district court complex on Friday after a court official received a bomb threat through email, police said. No suspicious object was found during the search, they added.
After receiving the alert, the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs were rushed to the spot, and a thorough search of the court premises was carried out, officials said.
SHO of Ambala City police station, Suresh Kumar, said that soon after the bomb threat email was received, sniffer dogs, bomb disposal teams, and other specialised units were immediately deployed inside the court complex.
He said that nothing suspicious was recovered during the operation.
Visitors entering the court premises were checked using metal detectors. Entry was restricted, and no one was allowed inside without a valid identity card.
Earlier on Monday, three schools in the district had received bomb threat emails. The school authorities immediately informed the police, following which thorough checks were conducted, but nothing suspicious was found, officials said.
Last month, three schools — two in Ambala Cantonment and one in Ambala City — had also received similar bomb threats. Before that, a threat email had been sent to the Ambala Deputy Commissioner’s office.
In both these incidents last month, no suspicious object was found. Officials later confirmed that the threats were hoaxes.
