As searches and counter-terror operations in remote and forested areas of the Jammu division continue, security forces busted a hideout in a remote village in Poonch district on Saturday evening. The hideout bust led to recoveries, including a pistol and other logistic stores, an official said.
In a post on X, the Jammu-based White Knight Corps wrote, “The hideout was set up inside a natural cave and was unearthed during a search operation in the general area of Hari Budha bowl.”
During the combing operation around suspected locations, including a cave-like structure, the forces personnel unearthed and recovered some items, which also included clothing and eatables. "The operation reinforces sustained surveillance and proactive domination of the area,” the Army said.
Counter-insurgency operations in Jammu, particularly in Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Udhampur and Doda, have intensified across the division, with a focus on targeting the terror support infrastructure in the region.
Operations in forest areas across Jammu, despite terrain and weather-related challenges, are helping track suspected individuals currently operating in the division. Joint operations by the Indian Army, Rashtriya Rifles and J&K Police have recently led to the elimination of key terror operatives, including a Jaish-e-Mohammad commander.
Recent successes in the operations are majorly driven by technologically embedded warfare, where dense forests with thick vegetation continue to pose significant challenges for security forces conducting anti-terror operations.
