Ahead of the incoming winter season, a joint team of officers from security and intelligence agencies have visited the International Border Outpost Octroi in Jammu to review the security infrastructure and technological assets deployed for effective border monitoring, officials said.

The visit to the Suchetgarh sector was organised by the Border Security Force (BSF) as part of the ongoing Civil-Military Fusion Capsule being conducted in the Jammu region, they said.

The visit aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the BSF’s multifaceted role in border guarding, and its coordination and cooperation with other security agencies.

Participants included officers from the BSF, Army, Intelligence Bureau, Central Reserve Police Force, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police.

During the joint visit, BSF officials gave an operational briefing highlighting operational readiness on the border, anti-infiltration measures, and management of border population issues.

The visit offered a valuable platform for cross-coordination and inter-agency interaction, helping participants gain a deeper appreciation of the challenges and nuances of border management in a sensitive and volatile security environment, a spokesperson said.

He said coordination and cooperation among stakeholders hold the key to ensuring peace and security in border areas.

The initiative reinforced the broader objectives of the Civil-Military Fusion Capsule, promoting mutual understanding, synergy, and institutional collaboration between the civil administration, security forces, and intelligence agencies, the spokesperson said.

The Civil-Military Fusion Capsule started on October 15 and is scheduled to end on October 29.
