Srinagar police have filed a chargesheet against seven militant under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in a Srinagar court on Monday, reports have said.
The chargesheet pertains to Case FIR No. 31/2024, which was registered at the Khanyar Police Station under Sections 13, 18, 20, 23, and 38 of the UAPA, along with Section 7/25 of the Arms Act.
Eight individuals were involved in the case, including Pakistani militant commander Usman, who was killed during a police encounter.
Formal charges have been filed against seven individuals for their involvement in terror-related activities, including providing logistical support to militants operating in Srinagar.

An abated challan has been submitted in connection with the deceased Pakistani militant. Usman, a top commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) known as Usman Bhai, was killed in a gunfight with security forces in the downtown area of Srinagar.
Usman, a Pakistani national, had been active in the region for several years and was involved in multiple attacks, including the killing of Inspector Masroor Ahmed Wani in October 2023.
During the encounter, four security personnel, including CRPF jawans and two J&K police officers, were injured. This was the first recorded encounter in Srinagar in over two years.
The militant presence and penetration into central city areas had raised alarms among security and intelligence agencies, who, following the encounter, began investigating and apprehending individuals who had assisted the militants in the Valley.
