Security forces have arrested seven militants linked to four banned outfits in Manipur for their alleged involvement in bomb blasts and other unlawful activities, police said on Saturday.
According to a police statement, an active cadre of the People’s Liberation Army was apprehended near the India–Myanmar border under the Moreh Police Station limits in Tengnoupal district on Thursday.
In a separate operation on the same day, three more members of the proscribed outfit were arrested from different locations in Imphal East district for their alleged involvement in improvised explosive device (IED) blasts targeting businessmen.
Police said three IEDs and two detonators were recovered from the trio during the operation.
On Friday, security forces also apprehended a cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party and another member of the outlawed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup from areas under the Moreh Police Station limits in Tengnoupal district, the statement said.

Additionally, an active cadre of the proscribed United National Liberation Front was arrested from his residence at Thangmeiband in Imphal West district on Friday.
Police said the militant had been named in a first information report registered at Imphal Police Station in connection with a bomb blast that occurred in the Sagolband Takhellambam Leikai area in 2022.
Security forces have intensified search and combing operations across Manipur since ethnic violence erupted in the state two years ago, leading to heightened vigilance and continued crackdowns on insurgent groups.
Officials said such coordinated operations aim to curb militant activities and restore normalcy in the region.
