Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa strongly condemned the attack inside the Golden Temple premises, expressing hope that the Punjab government would take swift action against those responsible.
He described the Golden Temple as a sacred place where people from all religions come to offer prayers and called the incident deeply regrettable. He urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice for the victims.
The attack, which took place on Friday, left five people injured, including a Golden Temple attendant and a devotee who are in critical condition. According to Gurpreet Singh, the manager of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Sarai, an assailant used an iron rod to attack individuals at Guru Ramdas Sarai, a lodging facility near the temple.
Lakhs of devotees visit the Golden Temple every day, and the sudden act of violence shocked the pilgrims and staff present at the site.
The injured individuals were immediately taken to Guru Ramdas Hospital, operated by the SGPC. Three of the injured devotees, who had come for a private visit, received treatment and were later discharged.

However, two victims with more serious injuries were transferred to Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College & Hospital in Vallah for advanced medical care.
SGPC has assured that it will cover the medical expenses of the injured. Among them, one of the attendants suffered severe head injuries, with doctors confirming skull fractures and brain swelling. His condition remains critical, and the next 24 hours are crucial for his recovery.
Authorities identified the attacker as Zulfan, a resident of Yamuna Nagar in Haryana. According to police officials, he climbed to the second floor of the Guru Ramdas Sarai complex armed with an iron rod. When a temple worker, Jasbir Singh, attempted to stop him, he was attacked.
The assailant then turned on other devotees and workers who tried to intervene. Eventually, he was overpowered by the people present and handed over to the police.
ACP Jaspal Singh confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused, and an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack. Security has been tightened around the Golden Temple to prevent further incidents, and the Punjab government is expected to take necessary steps to ensure the safety of pilgrims visiting the holy shrine.
