Special prayer ceremony held for Dalai Lama in Dharamshala

More than 5,000 Tibetans, including monks, nuns and devotees from different countries, gathered at the Tsuglagkhang temple complex in the hill town to participate in the spiritual event.

Tibetan spiritual leader 14th Dalai Lama attended a long-life prayer ceremony organised in his honour on Wednesday morning at the Main Tibetan Temple. The prayers were offered jointly by the Dhasa Dhotoe Welfare Society and the Lodrik Welfare Association. More than 5,000 Tibetans, including monks, nuns and devotees from different countries, gathered at the Tsuglagkhang temple complex in the hill town to participate in the spiritual event.

 

Karen Queller, a devotee from Los Angeles, said people felt blessed and fortunate to be part of the ceremony. She described the Dalai Lama as a compassionate spiritual guide who continues to show humanity the path of love and kindness. Queller said she felt deeply happy and grateful to attend the gathering, calling the Dalai Lama a global symbol of peace and compassion.

 

Leon Barsegian, a devotee from Russia, said the atmosphere of peace and compassion at the ceremony touched everyone present. He shared that people had gathered with devotion to offer long-life prayers and expressed joy at being part of the event. According to him, the Dalai Lama holds importance not only for Tibetans but also for people across the world.

 

Nitin, a Buddhist follower from New Delhi, said he had travelled to Dharamshala especially to see the Dalai Lama. He added that devotees from many countries had assembled for the occasion and said the gathering reflected a shared message of love and peace. He expressed happiness at attending the spiritual programme.

 

Tenzin Lhakdor, one of the organisers from Nepal, said participants from different parts of the world joined the long-life prayer ceremony dedicated to His Holiness. He explained that the programme was jointly organised by the Dhotoe Welfare Society and the Lodrik Welfare Association at the temple complex. Lhakdor added that devotees felt spiritually fulfilled and joyful to take part in the prayers.
