Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched an instant crop loan scheme. He did so on a pilot basis in Dharmapuri on Sunday, August 17. The scheme is run under the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies. He distributed cheques to 18 beneficiaries.
At the event, Stalin said Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam would return to power in 2026. He called it "Dravidian Model 2.0" and said it would take the state "to new heights." He described Tamil Nadu as a trendsetter in welfare. He mentioned schemes like free bus travel for women. These have been adopted as models by other states.

Stalin also criticised Governor RN Ravi. He accused him of spreading "cheap politics." The Chief Minister said Ravi was trying to discredit the DMK government. Stalin alleged that the Governor mocked the "Dravidian Model" and the Tamil language. He also accused him of using a "non-existent Thirukkural" to damage the state's cultural identity.
Stalin rejected the Governor's claim of rising crimes against women in the state. He cited National Crime Records Bureau data. He pointed out that Uttar Pradesh, a Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state, had the highest number of such crimes. He also questioned how Tamil Nadu could attract over ₹10 lakh crore in investments if law and order were truly poor.
