Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is heading back to the classroom — specifically at Harvard University. The 56-year-old CM has enrolled in an executive leadership programme titled "Leadership for the 21st Century: Chaos, Conflict, and Courage" at the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
While many politicians receive honorary titles, Reddy is taking a more hands-on approach. The chief minister will be a student on campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from January 25 to 30. This means attending lectures, handing in assignments, and collaborating on group projects alongside leaders and professionals from over 20 countries. The course, under the direction of professors Tim O'Brien and Karen Morrissey, applies real-life examples to teach one how to deal with political and social pressures.
This means that Revanth Reddy will be the first-ever Chief Minister of an Indian state who is currently in power and pursuing certification courses from an Ivy League college. This is rather significant, considering the fact that Reddy is usually known for his "mass leader" approach, which is very aggressive in nature, as one can guess, being the leader of Telangana.
At the end of this one-week stint, the CM will become an officially certified graduate of this prestigious university. It proves to be quite an interesting phase for Reddy, who appears to be trying to mix and match his local insight with an overseas perspective.
