In a push to position Telangana as the global capital of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the state government has decided to establish the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH) in Hyderabad.
The hub will integrate all existing AI initiatives, startups and Centres of Excellence under one umbrella, alongside the creation of an AI university. The government aims to provide AI skill training to over 50,000 youth and create more than 10,000 jobs within the next three years.
“The decision was finalised at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, with IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu presenting the detailed proposal. While a 200-acre AI city is planned in Future City, the TAIH will initially operate from a multi-storey building until the larger campus is ready,” said an official of Telangana government.

Currently, Telangana supports more than 270 AI startups through its Centres of Excellence, with 80 more backed by the Department of Science and Technology and T-Hub. At the recent AI Summit in Hyderabad, major industry players, including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Kyndryl, Yotta and IIIT, signed MoUs with the state government.

“The TAIH will operate independently but in collaboration with global companies, research institutes and international AI hubs. A global CEO and governance board featuring Silicon Valley leaders and other international experts will be appointed,” said the official.
The 2 lakh sq. ft. campus will feature an Executive Briefing Centre, AI Startup Space, Venture Capital Corridor, Research Labs, Training Centres and a digital platform for stakeholders. In its first three years, the hub will focus on launching over 250 AI startups, securing more than 100 million USD in private funding, facilitating over 50 global patents, attracting 15 multinational R&D centres and building partnerships with 25 international universities and research labs.
Officials said the project would boost Telangana’s brand as a leading hub for innovation, research, and technology, attracting major investments and global attention.
