Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. One terrorist was killed during the encounter, officials said.
Acting on intelligence inputs, security forces detected the movement of two terrorists in the general area of Jhangar in the Nowshera sector along the LoC at around 3 pm. The information was shared by the White Knight Corps in a post on X.
Alert troops reacted quickly and launched a calibrated response. They engaged the infiltrators and successfully foiled the infiltration attempt, the Army said. During the exchange of fire that followed, one Pakistan-sponsored terrorist was killed. This action effectively prevented any breach of the LoC, the Army added. Meanwhile, a search operation has been initiated to trace the second terrorist, who is believed to be hiding in the area.
Security forces have strengthened their operational posture and increased surveillance across the sector. Integrated ground and aerial monitoring is being carried out to ensure complete domination of the area, officials said.
