At least two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with two other vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district on Tuesday.
The bus was carrying BSF personnel for deployment ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on July 3. The injured personnel have been shifted to a nearby hospital, where their condition is stated to be stable.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
According to officials, the bus first collided with a Maruti Ertiga passenger vehicle and then hit a tractor-trolley at Peerah along the highway.
The injured were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Sanjeet Kumar and Head Constable Arveen Kumar. Both sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the district hospital in Ramban for treatment.
The accident caused brief disruption to traffic on the busy Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The damaged vehicles were later removed, and normal traffic movement was restored.
