Two alleged criminals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were apprehended after a brief encounter with Delhi Police’s Special Cell in Paschim Vihar. They were arrested in connection with the shooting incident outside Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa’s gym, officials said on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Haqeeqat and Sagar, had been on the run since the June 11 firing incident. With their arrest, all four accused involved in the case have now been nabbed, officials said.
Police officials said Haqeeqat and Sagar had come to West Delhi on Wednesday night to execute another crime when Special Cell teams intercepted them based on specific intelligence inputs.
Upon spotting the police team, the gangsters allegedly opened fire, prompting retaliatory action by the police.
According to officials, both suspects sustained bullet injuries to their legs during the exchange of fire and were overpowered. Weapons were also recovered from their possession.
Earlier, two other accused — Arman (19) and Tushar (21), both from Haryana’s Sonipat — were arrested by the Crime Branch in Bahadurgarh.
Investigators said all four accused are linked to gangster Anil Pandit, an operative of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who is believed to be based in the United States.
