A speeding Thar vehicle on Friday crashed into a standard Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) bus before hitting a truck in Srinagar, leaving two persons with minor injuries.
These vehicles across the country have been found involved in some serious accidents.
As per officials, the Thar bearing registration number JK01AQ 0008 collided with an SSB bus bearing registration number AF12E 6758 and also hit a TATA truck bearing registration number JK01AU 5740, which was stationed on the roadside at the Baghat area on Friday morning.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of both is said to be stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered FIR No. 73/25 under Sections 281, 125(A), and 324(4) BNS at Police Station Saddar. Further investigation has been launched, police said.
Meanwhile, police have urged citizens to follow traffic rules, avoid rash driving, and ensure road safety to prevent such accidents in the future.
The Thar vehicle has somewhat become a death sign for commuters and bystanders, as its owners are often seen speeding in crowded areas.
Earlier, in one deadly accident, two minors also lost their lives after they were seen racing with another Thar on the busy Srinagar-Jammu Highway. Traffic authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have since cracked down on minors driving high-end and powerful cars.
