Two special police officers (SPOs) were sacked from service on Sunday for their alleged links with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua. SPOs—Abdul Latief and Mohd Abbas—had been arrested for their alleged involvement in terror activities, informed the officials.
The said Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Mohita Sharma, ordered the termination of the two SPOs with immediate effect. The two cops are accused of providing support to terrorists.
Meanwhile, the anti-terror raids continued across different areas of Jammu city. The raids, which entered their second day on Sunday, are aimed at dismantling the terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.
These raids are particularly targeting local terrorists operating from Pakistan and their overground workers (OGWs), officials said, adding that a massive cordon and search operation is underway at more than a dozen places in Ramban, Kathua and Rajouri districts.
