At least two persons have been killed and three others sustained injuries after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the Nallah on the Kathua-Basohli road near Kainta Morh (Dakhnaka) on Sunday.
Officials said the accident occurred around 12:40 PM when an XUV car lost control and plunged into a Nallah.
A rescue team from the police post at Basantpur rushed to the spot, rescued the travellers, and shifted them to GMC Kathua, they said.

Meanwhile, doctors at the GMC declared two of the injured, identified as Mohinder Paul and Pawan Madhan, as brought dead, officials said.
Three others injured in the accident belonged to Ferozepur and are currently undergoing treatment. Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
Earlier, on Saturday, as many as 40 passengers had a miraculous escape in J&K’s Rajouri district when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and stopped just a few inches from the edge of a cliff.
The bus was on its usual route from the Gambhir Mughalan area when the driver lost control. It veered dangerously close to a 300-feet-deep river gorge before stopping, narrowly averting a major tragedy.
Shortly after the incident, the Indian Army Rashtriya Rifles battalion from the Gambhir camp (Romeo Force), who were deployed nearby for area domination duties in connection with the Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra, rushed to the spot.
Earlier on Thursday, a driver was killed in another road accident near the Kewal Khawas area of Rajouri district.
An official said that the deceased has been identified as Sarfaraz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Arif, a resident of Delari Badhal, Tehsil Khawas.
The vehicle involved was a dumper bearing registration number JK11F-7916.
On June 25, another accident involving two women passengers led to their deaths while nine others sustained serious injuries when a tempo traveller and a mini load carrier collided head-on in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri.
