Two members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were shot dead in an encounter with the Haryana police in Bahadurgarh in the wee hours of Sunday, officials said.
Senior police officials said the duo was involved and wanted in several cases across multiple states.
Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan said the deceased duo has been identified as Himanshu, a resident of Jakhod Khera village in Hisar district, and Pravesh, a resident of Tibba Danasher.
Both accused carried a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each and were wanted in the murder of gym operator Kapil in Hani carried out on June 11, he said.

Bhushan said, “The police teams acted on specific intelligence about the duo who was armed with weapons to execute another crime in Bahadurgarh.”
“During interception, they opened fire on the police personnel, prompting strong retaliation. One police constable suffered a bullet wound while four others escaped unhurt as bullets fired from the gangsters hit their armoured vests," he added.
Both the gangsters also suffered serious injuries in the firing exchange, he said, adding that both were taken to trauma centre in Bahadurgarh town, where doctors declared them brought dead on arrival.
The injured police constable was shifted to a bigger medical institution and was undergoing medical treatment for the bullet injury suffered during the encounter.
