Two police officers promoted to SP rank in J&K

Besides, two Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers have been posted as Commissioners in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday ordered the promotion of two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) to the ranks of Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.

 

As per official Order No. 265-Home of 2026 dated May 2, 2026, issued by the Home Department, sanction has been accorded for the elevation of the following officers from DySP (General Cadre) to SP (Level-11) in the Pay Matrix (Rs 67,700– Rs 2,08,700) with immediate effect: Mudasser Ahmed Tramboo (KPS1258) and Vaseem Mehmood (KPS125754).

 

The order was issued with the approval of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The promotions shall remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions. Besides, two Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers have been posted as Commissioners in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

According to the official order, Mahesh Chand Bharadwaj has been appointed as Commissioner, Audit, Jammu, GST and Central Excise, while Samaya Murali has been posted as Commissioner (Appeals), Jammu, GST and Central Excise.
