Uttarakhand Minister Ram Singh Kaida has said the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar will be a historic event under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said the government is making all necessary preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the religious gathering.
Kaida said officials have been directed to maintain strict law and order and complete all development works on time. He expressed confidence that the preparations are progressing as planned.
"There is no doubt that the upcoming Kumbh, held under the leadership of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, will be historic. We have also instructed police officials to ensure robust law and order so that no one has any grievances, and to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed with the utmost sincerity. Certainly, progress is being made on all ongoing development works. All tasks will be completed by October," he said.
The minister said the government recently held a meeting with saints and Mahants representing various Akhadas to discuss their concerns and requirements for the Kumbh.
"Regarding the demands placed before the government, respected Mahants from all the Akhadas had gathered here. There will be no issues regarding parking, and we are ensuring uninterrupted water and electricity supplies. We assured them that these concerns, along with others they raised, would be addressed. A productive meeting took place today, attended by respected saints and Mahants from all the Akhadas," the Minister added.
For the 2027 Kumbh Mela, the state government is focusing on improving infrastructure, expanding facilities for devotees, and strengthening security through modern surveillance and monitoring systems.
Several projects are being taken up on a priority basis. These include the construction of a new Command and Control Centre (CCR-2) for the Kumbh Mela, along with two new bridges over the Sukhi River and the Mayapur escape channel to improve connectivity and crowd management.
