Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the creation of a Border Area Development Council in Uttarakhand. The council will work to improve facilities and services in border regions.
Speaking at the fourth Border Mountain Children's Science Festival in Guptkashi, Rudraprayag on Wednesday, the chief minister said the council will work to improve infrastructure in these areas.
He also mentioned the creation of innovation centres in border districts, focusing on disaster management, health, and education. Dhami interacted with child scientists from different districts, discussing topics such as climate change, water conservation, and disaster management.
Dhami said these young minds would be given new opportunities to grow and explore their talents.
On a broader note, Dhami praised the achievements of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said India is making strides in innovation, research, and self-reliance.
He also mentioned that Dehradun would soon host the country’s fifth science city, marking a major milestone for a state like Uttarakhand.
