A wedding celebration ended in tragedy after a pickup vehicle carrying guests overturned in Sonbhadra district, killing three people and injuring nine others, police said on Wednesday.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Rishabh Runwal, the accident occurred late Tuesday night near Kathar village under the Rampur Barkonia police station limits.
The vehicle was part of a wedding procession travelling from the Madihan area of neighbouring Mirzapur district to Sonbhadra when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the pickup vehicle to overturn on the road.

A total of 12 injured passengers were taken to the district hospital for treatment. Doctors later declared Rajan Gond (20), Ajay Gond (18) and Vinod Gond (35) dead during treatment. All three victims were residents of Madihan.
Police said two of the injured, whose condition deteriorated critically, were referred to a hospital in Varanasi for advanced treatment, while the remaining victims continue to receive medical care locally.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, officials added.
