He also interacted warmly with children present at the event, distributing toffees and encouraging them to focus on their studies.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and state health minister Irfan Ansari were also present on the occasion.

In his address, the Vice President said he felt deeply emotional upon visiting the sacred land of Ulihatu, the birthplace of Birsa Munda. He noted that the life and sacrifice of Birsa Munda continue to inspire generations across the country.

Recalling a personal experience, he shared that he had visited Ulihatu on the very day he took oath as the Governor of Jharkhand, describing it as a special and memorable moment in his life.

He further highlighted the decision taken in 2021 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate November 15, Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, calling it a historic step that has given new recognition to the heritage and pride of tribal communities across India.

The Vice President also recalled his presence in Khunti alongside the Prime Minister during the announcement of the PM Janman Yojana, stating that the initiative is a significant step toward the protection and empowerment of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
