Water sports at Gobind Sagar Lake in Bilaspur, which were halted during the monsoon due to heavy rains, resumed on Tuesday.
Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar personally tried the speed boat and cruise rides and shared his positive impressions. Cruise rides, banana rides, speedboats, water scooters, and other water activities are now running smoothly, a statement said.
The district administration is focused on developing Bilaspur as a key hub for adventure sports. The aim is to create an ecosystem where water sports, aero sports, and other adventure activities can grow. This will attract more tourists to Bilaspur and boost local businesses and the economy.
The Deputy Commissioner said Bilaspur was set to gain recognition nationally and internationally as a destination for adventure sports. With its scenic location near Bhakra Dam and proximity to the Chandigarh-Manali four-lane highway, Gobind Sagar Lake is ideal for such activities.
He also invited tourists from across the state and country to visit Bilaspur and enjoy the adventure options at the lake. He assured that the administration is working to ensure visitor safety and convenience and plans to introduce more activities in the near future.
