In a surprising turn of events, Indra Kumari, a woman from Bihar, left her abusive husband to marry a loan recovery agent who had been visiting her home for repayment.
Indra was married to Nakul Sharma in 2022, a man from Jamui district. However, Nakul's alcoholism and alleged abusive behaviour made life unbearable for Indra. Faced with constant physical and emotional torment, she sought a way out of the toxic relationship.
During this time, she met Pawan Kumar Yadav, a loan shark working for a finance company. Their initial interaction was strictly professional, as Pawan came to her home to collect a loan repayment. As he continued to visit, their professional relationship gradually evolved into a friendship, and over time, this bond deepened into love.
For five months, Indra and Pawan maintained their relationship in secrecy, meeting discreetly. On February 4, they made a bold move, running away to West Bengal's Asansol, where Indra's aunt resides. They stayed there for a few days before returning to Jamui.

On February 11, they married in a temple in a traditional Hindu ceremony attended by several guests. Soon after, a video of the wedding surfaced online and went viral.
While Pawan's family has accepted the union, Indra's family strongly opposes it and has filed an FIR against Pawan, accusing him of involvement with their daughter. Indra, however, has openly stated that she married Pawan of her own accord, without any coercion.
The newlyweds now face threats from Indra’s family and social backlash. Concerned for their safety, they have sought protection from the authorities, fearing retaliation from her relatives and the community.
