Andhra Pradesh Municipal Minister P Narayana marked a major milestone in the capital’s development on Thursday by officially inaugurating the raft foundation work for the new High Court in Amaravati.
Following special prayers at the construction site, work is now underway on the structure, which was designed by the globally acclaimed architectural firm Norman Foster and Partners. This building is one of seven "iconic" structures planned to define Amaravati’s future skyline.
According to official details, the High Court will be a sprawling B+G+7 floor landmark with a total built-up area of 21 lakh square feet.
The design includes 52 court halls distributed across the second, fourth, and sixth floors, while the Chief Justice’s court is slated for the eighth floor. Minister Narayana emphasised that the government is pushing for a fast-tracked schedule, with the goal of seeing the entire project completed by the end of 2027.
