Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta on Friday said work done with dedication and commitment can bring positive change and guide society and the country in a new direction.
Speaking at a seminar and youth felicitation ceremony organised by the Sunil Upadhyay Educational Trust on the occasion of Upadhyay’s birth anniversary, the Governor said his ideals and thoughts continue to inspire young people to serve the nation.
He said the programme was not just a seminar or an award ceremony, but a tribute to a great personality who dedicated his entire life to serving the nation and society. He noted that the life of the late Sunil Upadhyay was a remarkable example of sacrifice, dedication, courage, and patriotism.
By choosing Himachal Pradesh as his area of work, he gave a new direction to the student movement, and through his hard work, the organisation gained a strong identity in the state.
Gupta added that despite facing health challenges, Sunil Upadhyay continued to travel widely and work tirelessly. His contributions, he said, remain a lasting source of inspiration for everyone.
He said under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi, the country is progressing rapidly. He highlighted key initiatives such as Skill India, Startup India, Digital India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat, which are creating new opportunities for employment, skill development, and entrepreneurship among youth.
He also noted that the National Education Policy has made education more practical and job-oriented, helping young people achieve their goals and contribute to national development.
Emphasising the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” the Governor said the active participation of youth is essential to achieve this goal. He added that the vision goes beyond economic growth and aims to build a strong, self-reliant, and value-based society. For this, young people must be equipped not only with knowledge and skills, but also with a spirit of dedication, discipline, and service to the nation.
Earlier, the Governor felicitated several young achievers who had excelled in different fields.
Former National President of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Professor Nagesh Thakur, and Vice-President of the Sunil Upadhyay Educational Trust, Ashok Sharma, also shared their views and recalled the contributions of Sunil Upadhyay.
Secretary of the Trust, Professor Surendra Sharma, presented the vote of thanks. MLAs Rakesh Jamwal and Surender Shourie, along with other dignitaries, were also present on the occasion.
